BIO

My name is Ashlee Rene Thompson and I am a contemporary artist from Montgomery, Alabama. I earned my MFA in Studio Art and a certificate in Museum Studies from The University of Alabama in 2022.  In previous academia, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts as well as my Master of Liberal Arts degree from Auburn University at Montgomery in Montgomery, AL. Since 2015, I have served as an adjunct instructor for the Fine Arts department at Auburn University at Montgomery. I am currently an adjunct instructor for The University of South Carolina in Sumter, SC, where I teach studio and art history classes. Alongside teaching, I have continued making works of art and have proudly exhibited in national and international juried exhibitions. As far as curatorial experience, I have worked with several gallery spaces as a project manager, curator, and exhibit designer. I currently live and work in Sumter, SC.
